NALGONDA: A dead body was discovered in the water tank of the Old City of Hindupur in Nalgonda Municipality, causing widespread panic among residents. The municipality's residents have unknowingly been consuming contaminated water for the past ten days.

The issue came to light when residents noticed a change in the water quality and reported it to the municipal water supply staff. Upon inspection, municipal staff and residents found a dead body in the tank. The deceased was identified as Avula Vamsi from Hanuman Nagar, who had been missing since May 24. His family had filed a missing person report with the police.

This incident has sparked outrage among locals, who accuse the municipal staff of negligence and endangering public health. They recalled a similar incident in Nagarjunasagar, where around 30 monkeys had died in a water tank. The recent discovery has intensified their anger and demands for accountability.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Vamsi's death, whether it was an accident or a case of suicide. The full details of the incident are yet to be known.

Meanwhile, the residents are alarmed and demand immediate action to ensure such incidents do not recur.
