CM Chandrababu Naidu orders probe into secret camera incident at Gudlavalleru Engineering College
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu ordered an investigation into the discovery of secret cameras in the Gudlavalleru Engineering College women's hostel, following protests by students.
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an immediate probe into the incident involving secret cameras found in the women's hostel washroom at Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district.
Following the Chief Minister’s orders, District Minister Kollu Ravindra and the District Collector and SPs were directed to visit the college and expedite the investigation. Meanwhile, police began the investigation by recording the statements of students allegedly involved. Preliminary reports suggest that the cameras were installed with the involvement of a female student.
Krishna District SP Gangadhar called the incident deeply regrettable and assured the investigation would be thorough. He said police have already seized laptops and phones from the suspect. He assured that those responsible for the incident would face strict punishment and that stringent measures would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Home Minister Anita also reacted strongly and warned that severe action would be taken against the culprits. She said steps should be taken to ensure such incidents do not recur.
Minister for Human Resources Nara Lokesh ordered a separate inquiry into the hidden camera allegations. He cautioned that anyone found guilty would face harsh consequences. He instructed the educational institutions to implement preventive measures against harassment, ensuring the safety of all students.
