Couple arrested for luring man with marriage proposal, cheating him of Rs 31 lakh
The police said that they cheated many others of huge amounts through the Instagram pages
HYDERABAD: The sleuths of Cyber Crime Cell of the Rachakonda Police arrested two fraudsters for cheating people under an online matrimonial site racket.
Reportedly, Parasa Tanusri (23) and Parasa Ravi Teja (32), who were a couple, created multiple Instagram IDs (Sri_tinsu) , (Sri.tinsu), (sritinsu), (lucky_sritinsu), through which they lured men into a marriage agreement and asked them for money.
The complainant and the accused met on Instagram eight months ago. Just a few days into talking, Tanusri proposed to the complainant for marriage to which he agreed. The duo, citing reasons like EMIs, mother's ill health, etc. looted the complainant of Rs, 31.6 lakhs.
The police said that they cheated many others of huge amounts through the Instagram pages. Cyber Crime police registered a case and were further investigating the matter.
