KOTHAGUDEM: A woman cadre of the CPI (Maoist), identified as Neel alias B Radha, was allegedly killed by her own group on the Andhra-Odisha border.

Accused of being a police informant, Radha's death was disclosed by Ganesh, the Secretary of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee, in a press statement issued in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Wednesday.

Radha joined the Maoist party in 2018 after completing her diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. Over the past six years, she has served in various capacities, including as a squad member, military instructor, and protection team commander. According to Ganesh, she was previously removed from her commander position due to disciplinary breaches, which included marriage and extramarital relationships, effectively ending her revolutionary life.

The statement further detailed that after joining the Maoists, police had been pressuring Radha's family to convince her to surrender and reintegrate into society. Offers of employment and money were made to her brother, Suriem, who eventually became a police agent and worked for the intelligence department. A few months ago, the police obtained Radha's mobile number and initiated contact through her friend, Mamta, urging her to surrender.

Ganesh revealed that Suriem also contacted Radha, informing her of the family's difficulties and advising her to surrender or provide information to the police to resolve the family's issues. She allegedly agreed and informed the Telangana and Chhattisgarh police intelligence officers about the party's leadership and activities.
