HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police on Friday arrested a drug peddler in Filmnagar for selling drugs to the locals and seized 8.56 grams of heroin from his possession.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Mohammad Irfan of Tolichowki, was involved in peddling drugs in Hyderabad while working with a private company.

On a tipoff, the police laid a trap and sent one of the policemen disguised as a prospective buyer to Irfan for drugs. As soon as he was asked for the drug, an unsuspecting Irfan handed over a small sachet containing the banned substance. As he was caught red-handed, the police arrested him.

During their investigation, the police found out that Irfan had been purchasing heroin from one Gayaj in Mumbai and selling it in Hyderabad for a premium. They registered a case against the duo under the NDPS section and are investigating it further. Te police launched a manhunt for Gayaj.

MDMA seized in Vanasthalipuram

The LB Nagar Special Operation Team arrested a man named Sumesh, a native of Kerala, for selling huge amounts of MDMA drugs in Hyderabad.

The police ascertained that Sumesh was allegedly bringing the drugs from Bangalore and selling it in Hyderabad for a premium for quite some time now
