HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police have arrested KP Choudhary, a known Tollywood filmmaker who produced Rajnikanth-starrer Kabali in Telugu, in connection with the drugs case. Police found that he was using drugs and also reportedly seized cocaine from his possession.
Choudhary has been staying in Goa for some time ever since the Telangana police spread a dragnet to catch famous film personalities involved in the drugs case that shook the Tollywood industry.
In 2021, several Tollywood stars, big and small, were interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over charges of drug trafficking and consumption.
Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh, Puri Jagannath, Mumait Khan, Charmi, Navdeep, Ravi Teja, Subbaraju, Tarun, Nandu and Tanish were among those who were interrogated by the ED.
However, the forensic report concluded that they did not use any drugs and gave them a clean chit. The latest arrest of a known producer once again caused commotion in the Tollywood circles.
