HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) units in Madhapur and Miyapur police jointly conducted a raid and apprehended four individuals involved in online cricket betting. The raid took place at Flat No. 505, Srinidhi Service Apartment, Mathrusri Nagar, which falls under the jurisdiction of Miyapur police station. A total of Rs 43,57,461 was seized from the accused who were arrested charged under section 3 and 4 of the Telangana Gaming Act (TS Gaming Act).

Acting on a tip-off, the SOT apprehended four bookies identified as Aaluru Trinadh, Manam Rajesh, Bolle Swamy, and Marpenna Ganapathi Rao. These individuals were allegedly organising online cricket betting on the ongoing IPL matches using the 'Cricket Live Guru' App and 'Lucky Online' App.

The raid resulted in the seizure of Rs 40 lakh in cash, Rs 3,57,461 frozen from five bank accounts, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. The investigation revealed that Shakamuri Venkateshwar Rao alias Chinnu, residing in London (UK), was the mastermind behind this online cricket betting operation. The arrested individuals were allegedly working as bookies on his behalf.
