HYDERABAD: Sleuths of Mokila police officials and the Special Operations Team (SOT), Rajendra Nagar Zone, apprehended two drug peddlers and one customer for carrying banned narcotic MDMA drugs from Hyderabad to Goa and recovered 51.45 grams on Sunday.

The main accused, Lingampally Anuradha (34), of Nanakramguda, and her friend, Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar (33), of Guntur, got addicted to banned narcotic drugs, along with several other friends. Anuradha used to buy drugs from unknown people in Goa, transport them to Hyderabad, and sell them to the public on the directives of the second accused, Sanikonmu Prabhakar Reddy (38).

Anuradha became acquainted with one of her neighbours in Pragathi Nagar who was addicted to drugs and contacted a drug peddler in Goa, from whom she used to buy narcotic drugs in Goa and supply them to her friends in Hyderabad.

A friend introduced her to Sanikommu Prabhakar Reddy, owner of Varalaxmi Tiffin Centre, DLF Gachibowli, where she shared details about drug consumption and supply network in Hyderabad and also introduced him to drugs.

When Anuradha visited Goa, she inquired about drug prices and called Sanikommu Prabhakar Reddy, and the two hatched a plan to buy drugs at low prices in Goa, illegally transport them to Hyderabad via private bus, and sell them at high prices to known consumers to make easy money.

During this process, they connected with their friends over WhatsApp and Snap Chat and delivered drugs to Hyderabad. Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, accused of drug delivery in Hyderabad, contacted Sanikommmu Prabhakar at Varalaxmi Tiffins for assistance in establishing a hotel, Palluru Pullatlu, next to Sanikommu Prabhakar's tiffin centre.

Sanikommu Prabhakar, a drug addict, became friends with Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, who acquired narcotics from him for personal use.

On September 10, 2023, Mokila police apprehended three individuals and three cars at ORR Service in Indrareddy Nagar. They found cocaine packets in their vehicles, and presumptive tests on MDMA Ecstasy pills and MDMA crystal indicated the presence of narcotic drugs.

Following that, three accused were subjected to confession and seizure panchanama in the presence of government officials. The accused were later taken to Mokila police station, along with the seized property.

A case was registered in Cr. No. 54-2023, U/Sec. 21(C), 22(C), and 29 of the NDPS Act (1985).
