ELIRU: An honour killing incident in which a dalit youth was brutally murdered at Godugupeta of Dwaraka Tirumala mandal in Eluru has come to light late on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Pawan Kalyan, who went missing three days back on October 15 was found dead and buried. The police swung into action and carried out excavations to retrieve the body.

Kalyan has fallen in love with Shyamala, daughter of Nageswara Rao who belongs to a different caste family. As the family members rejected their love, Shyamala committed suicide by consuming pesticides five months ago.

With the death of the daughter, Nageswara Rao plotted to eliminate Pawan Kalyan. According to the plan, Nageswara killed Pawan Kalyan and buried the body where his daughter's body was cremated.

Jangareddygudem DSP and Circle Inspector, Bhimadolu CI, Lakkavaram Police, and Dwaraka Tirumala Revenue Officers exhumed the body, which was found to be wrapped in a cloth tieing the hands and legs with rope.

Meanwhile, the Youth association members have alleged that it is an honour killing resorted by Nageswara Rao for loving his daughter. They demanded punishment the culprits severely and provide compensation of Rs. 10 lakh and a job to the kin of Pawan Kalyan.
