HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda police have busted the entrance test scandal pertaining to the junior linemen recruitment for the Telangana electricity department. As part of a detailed investigation, the police could establish that the scandal was masterminded by some insiders of the department who used technology to feed their candidates with the answers live during the entrance test.

The Rachakonda cops on Tuesday apprehended five more accused in connection with the case. The Amberpet police had already arrested Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADE) Feroz Khan who is the prime accused. The qualification test for the electric junior linemen was conducted on July 17.

Feroz Khan and his accomplices used the tried and tested modus operandi wherein they fed their candidates with the correct answers during the examination. Siva Prasad, one of beneficiaries, attended the examination concealing a cell phone in his pocket. Feroz Khan, along with another ADE Saidulu and Sub Engineer Shaik Shahjahan, stayed in touch with Siva Prasad using a microphone and relayed the answers to the questions.

Feroz and his gang reportedly struck a deal with some candidates for Rs 5 lakh for every job. They have even collected Rs one lakh as advance amount. Feroz is facing another case that was registered by the Amberpet police.
