NAGAR KURNOOL: A farmer from Ulpara village in Vangur Mandal of Nagar Kurnool district attempted suicide after accusing the local police of harassment and supporting his rivals in a land dispute.

According to reports, the farmer, identified as Kyama Venkateshwarlu, was arrested by the Vangur Sub-Inspector while he was leveling his own land. Venkateshwarlu alleged that the police wrongfully detained him and subjected him to physical assault at the police station.

Adding to his woes, the police filed a case against Venkateshwarlu's brother, son-in-law, and son when they arrived at the station to inquire about his well-being.

Venkateshwarlu further claimed that the police ignored his complaint against his rival, A. Sujeevan Reddy, who had allegedly plowed the disputed land currently under litigation. He accused the SI of bias towards his opponents and demanded action against him in a complaint filed with the Circle Inspector.
