Five people sent to judicial remand for attacking Husky dog, its owners in Rahmat Nagar

HYDERABAD: Five people who allegedly attacked a Husky, its owner and his relatives have been sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
The incident occurred in Rahmat Nagar, Hyderabad, under the jurisdiction of Madhura Nagar Police Station on May 14 around 7 pm, wherein a group of people, all relatives, assaulted two individuals and their dog. The victims, N Srinath and his wife suffered grievous injuries alongside their dog and are currently undergoing treatment.
The accused and injured individuals were neighbours and had been involved in altercations for the last few days over certain petty matters, which culminated in the planned assault on the victims and their dog.
A case was registered at Madhura Nagar PS under sections 147, 148, 307 r/w 149 IPC & SEC 11 (1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, on May 14, 2024.
All five accused individuals, who were found to be involved in the assault, were arrested on May 15, presented before the court and sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
The video of this brutal attack went viral on social media platforms on Thursday. According to the police, a chargesheet with appropriate evidence would be filed after the completion of the investigation.
