KAKINADA: Forest officials in Andhra Pradesh intercepted a vehicle transporting 246 tortoises illegally from Kakinada to Odisha.

The seizure occurred during a routine check at the Tulasipaka Forest Check Post in the Alluri district. Tragically, 16 of the tortoises were found dead. Authorities have stated that the surviving tortoises will be released into the Sabari River.
