Gachibowli police nab three in rape, murder case in Nanakramguda

HYDERABAD: Gachibowli police nabbed three people in the rape and murder of a 38-year-old woman at the Vasavi Construction cellar in Nanakramguda in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on Monday.
Gachibowli police investigated a missing complaint from the daughter of the deceased, registered a case, found the dead body, identified it as the missing woman, and arrested Shyamal Roy on September 1, 2023.
According to Gachibowli police, the main accused, Shyamal Roy, was apprehended by a special team on September 1, 2023, at Adadanga, Ashrafpur, Malda District, West Bengal State. On September 3, 2023, Shyamal Roy confessed to raping and killing the deceased on August 25, 2023. He then informed the other two accused, leading to prima facie charges against him for the offenses punishable under section 376, 302 IPC and Ashok kumar Sarkar and Alok Sarkar for the offense punishable under section 202 IPC.
Following his confession, the special team arrested second accused Ashok Kumar Sarkar and third accused Alok Sarkar
They were all produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Malda District, West Bengal State, and brought to Gachibowli police station on September 2, 2023, by obtaining a transit warrant.
