Four rowdy sheeters were arrested after a violent confrontation with police investigating a missing persons case.
HYDERABAD: A group of men allegedly attempted to attack police officers in Brindavan Colony, Gandipet, during an investigation into a missing persons case. The gang, armed with knives and hockey sticks, reportedly threatened the officers and even attempted to unleash bulldogs on them.
The incident occurred when police arrived at the colony to investigate the disappearance of MRPS leader Narender and his friend Praveen. The situation escalated quickly when officers questioned the group about their presence and ownership of the land.
Fearing for their safety, the officers called for backup. Upon seeing the arriving police force, the gang fled the scene. However, police apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in the attack.
The arrested individuals, identified as Ahmed Khan, Sheikh Hamdan, Mohammed Jaffer, and Hamad Masood, are known rowdy sheeters. Police have registered a case under relevant sections. The accused were produced before the Rajendranagar Upparpally Court and remanded to judicial custody for seven days.
The disputed land, estimated to be worth Rs 25 crore, is believed to be at the centre of the dispute. This incident has raised concerns about the increasing frequency of land disputes and criminal activity within the Narsingi police station limits.
