Girl student dies by suicide in hostel room in IIIT Idupulapaya

IDUPULAPAYA: A final-year engineering student studying at IIIT Idupulapaya of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh died by suicide by hanging herself from the window of her hostel room on Monday.

The victim is identified as M Akhila from Rayachoti. However, the reasons for the extreme step were not immediately known. Vempally Circle Inspector Venkateswarlu, Idupulapaya RK Valley Sub-Inspector Ranga Rao, Vempally Sub-Inspector Tirupal Naik and IIIT Director Sandhya Rani inspected the incident site.

The police, who began their investigation, also questioned other students from her class and the campus to ascertain the reason that drove her to suicide. Full details of the incident were yet to emerge.
