Homeless man smashed to death on footpath in Chikkadpally

HYDERABAD: A homeless man was brutally murdered while he was asleep on a footpath in the Chikkadpally area of Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday. Unidentified assailants smashed his head with a boulder leading to his immediate death. The gruesome incident took place near the Hanuman temple located in Viveknagar of Chikkadpally.

The victim was identified as Kunti Seenu, known to be a homeless destitute who spent the nights on the footpath in the area. Locals, who found him dead in a pool of blood in the morning, alerted the police. The Chikkadpally police pressed a dog squad and a clues team into action to get some leads on the perpetrators of the offence.

The police were also examining the footage of nearby CCTV cameras to track down the culprits. With the accused yet to be identified, the motive for the murder also could not be established immediately.
