Hyderabad cop arrested for cheating 'live-in' partner

NALGONDA: Vijay, a sub-inspector of Malkajigiri CCS in Hyderabad, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of cheating a woman in the name of marriage and having a live-in relationship with her.

The SI's affair with the woman came to the fore following a complaint lodged by the victim with the Miryalaguda One Town Police. She alleged in her complaint that Vijay had continued the live-in relationship with her by promising to marry her. But he cheated her and married another woman.

The Miryalguda police registered a cheating case under sections 376(2), 420 and 417 of the IPC. The accused has been sent for remand.
