Hyderabad doctor succumbs to injuries in a hit-and-run accident

HYDERABAD: A city doctor who was injured in a hit-and-run accident three days ago died in the early hours of Saturday. According to reports, Dr Sravani, a dental doctor working in a private hospital in Hastinapuram, booked an ola bike on September 21.

After she began her ride, an unidentified car collided with the bike, injuring both the driver, Venkataih, and Sravani. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital. Dr. Sravani died on Saturday, three days after being admitted to the hospital with severe head injuries.

The police identified the accused as Ibrahim, using CCTV footage. Ibrahim, a Malakpet resident, lacked a driver's licence and other necessary documents.

The second loss in the family within a month has left Dr. Sravani's family inconsolable. Her mother suffered a heart attack and passed away 25 days ago.
