HYDERABAD: Asif Nagar police on Friday seized Rs. 1.78 crores from two vehicles and arrested two persons who were carrying the cash without proper documents and not given proper answer to the police

Asif Nagar police conducted a vehicle check on October 26, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., with regard to the Telangana Assembly elections and intercepted two vehicles, an Innova and an Omni, and discovered net cash of Rs. 1.78 crores from the vehicles.

Police seized unaccounted cash from brothers Mohammed Shahnawazuddin and Mohammed Shabuddin after they failed to provide proper answers during an inquiry.

The police handed over the cash to the IT department for further action.

Hyderabad police bust Hawala racket, seize Rs. 19.80 lakhs

The Central Zone Team of the Commissioner's Task Force on Friday seized unaccounted cash of Rs.19,80,000 and arrested hawala agent Rapole Naresh who failed to provide necessary documents.

Rapole Naresh, from Pallerla village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, was apprehended by Saidabad police on Friday evening, for allegedly carrying Rs. 19.8 lakh in a TVS Suzuki vehicle.

Naresh, a supervisor at Navasahasra Infra Developers in LB Nagar, used to transport hawala money and deliver it to customers on a commission basis.

Rapole Naresh, following G. Mahesh Kumar's instructions, visited Liberty on October 26, 2023, and collected an unacceptable amount from an unknown individual. He was apprehended by the police while attempting to deliver the amount to a customer on a two-wheeler.

Naresh organized clandestine Hawala money transfer business, supplied money to Hawala brokers, especially in metropolitan cities. He used messaging and WhatsApp to communicate, maintain identification codes, and deliver hawala money to evade tax and received commission on transporting it.

The accused, Rapole Naresh, and the seized materials were handed over to the SHO, Saifabad police station for further investigation.
