HYDERABAD: An intermediate first-year student at Sri Chaitanya Junior College at Narsingi in Hyderabad died by suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling fan in the classroom over alleged harassment by the college management.

According to the details, Nagula Satvik (16), son of Nagula Raju of Kothapeta village in Keshampet mandal of Shadnagar constituency in Ranga Reddy district studying first-year Intermediate in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. Sativik who didn't return to the hostel after study hour on Tuesday night reportedly died by suicide in the classroom at 10 PM. However, the students shifted him to the hospital despite a lack of support from the college management where sativik was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the students of the college said that Satvik died by suicide due to the harassment of the college management and staged a protest in front of the college. They leveled serious allegations against the warden stating that the latter had not taken any swift action despite seeing Satvik battling for his life after resorting to suicide and locking the door.

The students claimed that Satvik would have been rescued, had the warden taken him to the hospital on time.

The family of the victim attacked the warden and the principal on Wednesday morning after learning about the incident, which led to a tense atmosphere at the college. However, the college management complained to the police who shifted the body to Osmania hospital for a post-mortem.

The parents of Satvik are demanding action against the college warden and principal. It is learned that Satvik had talked to his father on Tuesday and was reportedly told by his grandmother that he was harassed and beaten at the college.
