HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 3 lakh each for the families of those who died in electrocution in the Kamareddy district on Tuesday. Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that the Chief Minister was shocked by the incident. KCR asked the authorities to ensure such accidents were prevented. MLA Gampa Govardhan consoled the family members at Kamareddy district hospital.

In an incident at Beedi workers colony of Kamareddy district headquarters, four people of the same family died due to electrocution on Tuesday. Among the dead were a man, a woman and their two children.

Haimad (35), Parveen (30), Adnan (4) and Mahim (6) living in the Beedi Workers Colony in the district center accidentally caught the electric wires and died from shock. The children were first hit by electric wires and electrocuted. In an attempt to save the children, the parents also lost their lives.

After informing the officials of the electricity department, the electricity supply to the house was stopped and the bodies were shifted to Kamareddy Government Area Hospital.
