HYDERABAD: A man took a drastic step by cutting off his tongue at the Venkateshwara Swamy Temple in Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad, on Saturday. The reason behind his extreme action was his fervent wish for Chandrababu Naidu to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

On information, police rushed to the spot and shifted him to a hospital for treatment. Police also found a letter in Mahesh's possession, identifying him as Chevala Mahesh from Gutala Village in West Godavari district. He also explained his drastic action and his aspirations for Naidu's leadership. In the letter, Mahesh revealed that this was not the first time he had resorted to such extreme measures for political figures. He claimed to have previously cut his tongue twice, once for YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YS Jagan.
