HYDERABAD: Maoists carried out a surprise attack on a CRPF camp in Pusuguppa, located in Bhadradri Kothagudem district's Cherla mandal, late Wednesday night. The sudden assault left security forces on high alert, as a gunfight between the Maoists and CRPF personnel ensued for approximately 30 minutes.
The police machinery was caught off guard by the intensity of the attack, which took place around the CRPF camp in a heavily forested area. Police officials have not released any official statement regarding casualties or injuries on either side.
Following the encounter, Cherla mandal has been declared a high-alert zone, with intensified security measures in place. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and conducting combing operations to track down the Maoists involved in the attack.
