AMARAVATI: Nandyal Rural CI Shivakumar Reddy and Mahanandi SI Nagendra Prasad have been suspended following the murder of YSRCP leader Subbarayudu in Sitaramapuram, Mahanandi Mandal. The DIG issued suspension orders after confirming that police negligence contributed to the incident.

On Saturday at around 12:20 AM, TDP leader Buddareddy Srinivasareddy, along with his followers, brutally murdered Subbarayudu at his residence. YSRCP leader Narapu Reddy had called the police, reporting that TDP leaders were attacking them. Despite the urgency, the police responded negligently. Although Narapu Reddy informed the police that around 40 people were approaching, only SI Nagendra Prasad and two constables arrived at the scene. Furthermore, they failed to disclose the situation to their superiors appropriately.

Additional forces could have been dispatched within 15 to 20 minutes to control the situation, but the police did not take appropriate action. This negligence led to widespread criticism and prompted higher authorities to act against the responsible officers, suspending CI Shivakumar Reddy and SI Nagendra Prasad.
