Over 40 students fall ill after suspected food poisoning at Jadcherla minority residential school
More than 40 students at a Jadcharla boys' school have been taken ill after eating breakfast, with nine requiring hospital treatment.
JADCHERLA: More than 40 students at a minority boys' English medium school in Jadcharla have fallen ill in a suspected case of food poisoning. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at the Jadcharla Minority Residential School.
The students reported experiencing stomach pains and vomiting around 10 am after eating breakfast. Nine students who became seriously ill were taken by ambulance to a local government hospital for treatment.
Medical professionals were immediately dispatched to the school and set up a medical camp to provide on-site treatment to the remaining students.
Upon learning of the incident, District Collector Vijayaendra Boyi and Additional Collector Vijayaendra Pratap visited the Gurukulam to speak with the affected students and assess their condition. They also inspected the food that had been prepared and the surrounding environment. In a show of confidence, the officials also stayed to eat lunch with the students.
