Pharmacy student gang raped in Warangal
A pharmacy student was allegedly assaulted by acquaintances in Warangal last month.
WARANGAL: A disturbing incident of gang rape involving a college student came to light in Warangal.
The victim, a pharmacy second-year student from Bhupalpally, was allegedly assaulted by three acquaintances on the outskirts of Warangal. The incident, which took place on September 15, has now been reported to the police.
The victim, who studies at a private college on the city outskirts, was approached by an acquaintance from her hometown at her hostel. He asked her to accompany him, claiming he needed to speak with her, and despite her initial hesitation, she was forcibly taken in a car where two other men were already present.
They drove her to a lodge near the Warangal vegetable market, where they rented a room on the first floor. The men reportedly forced the victim to consume beer before all three assaulted her. The victim did not immediately report the crime due to upcoming college exams but disclosed the incident to her mother during her visit home during the holidays.
The victim and her mother then lodged a formal complaint at the police station. The police have begun their investigation into the matter, and efforts are underway to gather evidence and identify the accused.
