HYDERABAD: A notorious habitual property offender, involved in 43 cases in the past, was arrested by Cyberabad police on Thursday. The Cyberabad Police recovered 57 tulas of gold and Rs. 2.70 Lakh in cash.

Commissioner of Police Stephen Ravindra said at a press conference, accused has been identified as Kotipally Chandri (30). He hails from Kukatpally, Hyderabad. He allegedly started committing thefts in 2005. Police said he was convicted of different charges in connection with 43 cases and was arrested.

The accused committed the crimes at night time. He moves single in isolated areas to search for locked houses. He then would break open the door using an iron rod and steal the things from the residence.

The sleuths of CCS Madhapur made sincere efforts to apprehend the accused, the cops recovered.

In another case, Balanagar and Balanagar Zone police, in a combined operation, arrested two hardcore inter-state house burglary offenders.

The criminals formed a gang with 11 members and visited Telangana 21 different times from 2018 to March 2022 in different combinations along with house-breaking implements. The gang hails from remote areas of Madhya Pradesh.

The main accused are Maan Singh (26), Mohabatt (35), Rem Singh (23), and Kishan Singh (29). They chose property theft as their profession because they have no other source of income. In order to keep suspicion away, they chose Hyderabad and its suburbs.

They were also habituated to the practice of committing thefts of motorbikes for an easy escape after the offenses and abandoning them in isolated places. The accused would go back to their hometown with the booty after which they would dispose of the property through their other associate in their hometown and share the stolen property sale proceeds among themselves.

The special teams visited several times Madhaya Pradesh, narrowed down the gangs, and also identified the gang members with the help of local police and arrested for main members.
