The Rachakonda police on Tuesday nabbed six accused in connection with the Jawahar Nagar murder case.

HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda police on Tuesday nabbed six accused in connection with the Jawahar Nagar murder case.

Ambati Raghupati was murdered on July 15. Based on a complaint from his wife Ambati Swarna, a case was registered by the Jawahar Nagar police. The complainant said that Raghupati was killed by his old enemies Srikanth Reddy and Manjunadh near Shiva Nagar of Dammaiguda.

She named Srikanth Reddy, whose father was allegedly killed by the victim, as the main accused. According to reports, Srikanth along with his father's close associate Manjunadh, gave a supari of Rs 30 lakhs to a contract killer, Rizwan, who planned the murder.

Reportedly, Raghupati was on his way home when the accused attacked him with hunting sickles and knives. With grievous injuries on his head and body, he died on the spot.

After the attack, the accused abandoned a two-wheeler near Srikanth Reddy's house and crossed the state border in two cars. They threw the weapons used in the crime into wayside bushes on the Ghatkesar Service Outer Ring Road.

Under the supervision of Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat, the Jawahar Nagar Police and Malkargiri SOT arrested the prime accused Srikanth Reddy, Manjunadh and four other accused persons from Rangapuram, Bommala Ramaram mandal. The police recovered four hunting sickles and three hunting knives besides seizing a car and a two-wheeler.
