Six Tirumala devotees killed in a lorry-Toofan collision in Kadapa district

KADAPA: As many as six persons were killed and five others, give seriously injured in a ghastly road accident after a lorry collided with a Toofan vehicle carrying 14 members on the Kadapa-Tadipatri main road near P. Anantapuram of Kondapur mandal in YSR Kadapa district.

According to police, 14 members belonging to Tadipatri of Anantapur, and Ballari of Karnataka went to visit Tirumala for darshans in a Toofan vehicle. As the devotees were returning home in the same vehicle, the Toofan vehicle hit a lorry coming from the opposite direction near P Anantapuram of Kondapur mandal in Kadapa district leaving six dead on the spot and five others seriously injured.

The locals shifted the injured to Tadipatri Government Hospital in a 108 vehicle. Circle Inspector Sudarshan Prasad and Sub Inspector Satyanarayana reached the spot and examined the place and took steps to ensure that there is no traffic jam.
