TDP leader brutally murdered in Kurnool district

KURNOOL: A TDP leader was brutally murdered in Hosur of Pattikonda mandal in Kurnool district in the early hours of Wednesday.

The victim, Vakiti Srinivasulu, aged 45, left his house early in the morning to attend to nature's call. Seizing the opportunity, assailants attacked him by throwing chilli powder in his eyes and subsequently murdered him before fleeing the scene. Upon learning of the incident, family members and villagers gathered in large numbers at the site. Srinivasulu's wife and children were left devastated by the tragedy.

DSP Srinivas Reddy and CI Jayanna arrived to assess the situation and registered a case, launching an investigation. TDP MLA KE Shyambabu visited the bereaved family and discussed the circumstances leading to the murder with the DSP, urging the police to identify and arrest the culprits promptly. Srinivasulu was a key aide to MLA Shyambabu and played a crucial role in his electoral victory.

DSP Srinivas Reddy assured that the suspects would be apprehended soon, with the help of a dog squad and clues team. Preliminary investigations revealed that Srinivasulu had no disputes with anyone in the village. Beer bottles were found a kilometre from the murder site, and it was noted that the victim was attacked with lethal weapons from behind.
