HYDERABAD: The Telangana police have arrested three accused in the infamous murder case of Narayana Reddy who was allegedly killed for marrying a girl against the will of her family.

Madhapur Deputy Commisioner of Police Shilpavalli said that the girl's father Venkateshwar Reddy had allegedly planned the murder. Reportedly, Venkateshwar Reddy along with cousin Srinivas Reddy paid Rs. 4.50 lakhs as supari to assassins. The police said that they had arrested Srinivas Reddy, Kashi, and Sheikh and were looking for Venkateshwar Reddy and brother-in-law Chandrasekhar Reddy.

The accused, Srinivas Reddy, who was working at an ice cream parlour in Dilsukhnagar had taken one of the accused, Ashiq, and went to Kurnool on June 24. Police investigation revealed that Sheikh had rented a room near Peta and planned the murder. On June 27, Narayana Reddy was taken out in a car and was strangled by wrapping a towel around his neck. In the same car, they took the dead body to a forest area on the outskirts of Jinnaram, doused it with petrol and set it on fire. After the murder, the accused left for Kurnool in Srinivas Reddy's car.

The police found that Ashiq was hiding in his relative's house in KPHB Colony while Srinivas Reddy and Kashi were hiding in Chittoor and Nellore districts respectively. The three suspects were held after retrieving call data from Narayana Reddy's mobile phone.

Narayana Reddy was a resident of KPHB, Hyderabad, and married a girl. Unhappy with the marriage, the girl's parents locked her home.
