HYDERABAD: Tollywood's celebrity fashion designer Pratyusha Garimella committed suicide in her studio in MLA Colony of the upmarket Jubilee Hills apartment on Saturday. The 36-year-old designer worked for celebrity actors in Telugu tinsel town as well as Bollywood too.
The police suspect that Pratyusha might have inhaled carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas, by sprinkling a chemical on a burning charcoal. The police, who have yet to get confirmation whether she had consumed CO, found a suicide note in her hand.
The note mentioned: "This is not my wished life..! I don't want to be burden to my parents..! Every day, I am crying. Sorry to my parents and all my friends and well-wishers..! - Prathyusha Garimella." She also reportedly claimed that she was feeling lonely.
The police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. The unmarried fashion designer reportedly left more details in a pen drive. Pratyusha's father, G V Krishna Rao, a retired IAS officer from Maharashtra cadre, said she had left her residence to meet someone on Friday evening. Durga, the wife of her studio's watchman, said that she had gone inside on Friday night and never came out. As the watchman informed her parents about she not responding to repeated calls, the family broke open the doors to find her dead.
Banjara Hills Inspector K Nageshwar Rao and his team reached the scene and collected evidences.
Pratyusha had designed dresses for celebrities like Rajul Preet Singh, Shriya Saran, Kajal Agarwal and Manchu Lakshmi.
