Two arrested for running adulterated milk powder racket in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police have arrested two persons for running an adulterated milk powder racket and seized materials worth Rs 3 lakhs.

The two accused, Mohd Saleem (48) and Mohd Arif (50), who are brothers, were running a milk powder-making unit at Madannapet where they were allegedly resorting to adulteration. Over 100 kgs of powder was recovered in the packaging of 'Dholpur Fresh Warana milk powder'.

The police also seized 140 kgs of milk powder, 5 kgs of sugar powder, one packing machine, one weighing machine, packing covers, fake expiry date stamps and other materials.

Reportedly, they brought cheaper quality milk powder and mixed them with original Dholpur milk powder and sold at the same rate. The accused were earlier arrested in 2017 for a similar offence.
