HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force North Zone Team, along with the Panjagutta police, arrested two persons for creating ‘Harish Anna Seva Samithi’, a fake social service organisation, floated in the name of Telangana Finance and Health minister T Harish Rao to cheat people.

On credible information, police apprehended Perala Venkatesh, a resident of Bhadurpally in Dundigal Municipality, and Gaddameedi Rajesh Kumar of Bowrampet. A receipt book and four mobile phones were seized from them.

The main accused, who was a follower of the minister and knew the businessmen and social activists that meet the minister, used that knowledge to cheat people. With the help of the receipt book printed with a fake registration number, he started approaching realtors and businessmen to collect money.

While one Gundala Mallesh Goud, was shown as president of the organisation even without his approval and knowledge, the accused mentioned himself as vice-president and the second accused Gaddameedi Rajesh Kumar was shown as general secretary of the fake organisation.

The first page of this fraudulent receipt book falsely showed that the minister was the first donor, followed by prominent BRS ministers and leaders, thereby coaxing their unwary targets into believing that it was a credible organisation and donating large sums.
