Two young women drowned while taking selfie at Thantadi beach

ANAKAPALLI: A weekend trip turned tragic for a group of young women at Thantadi Beach in Atchutapuram mandal of Anakapalli district. Three young women slipped and were washed away in the sea while taking selfies.

Despite the efforts of nearby fishermen, two of the women, identified as Nuka Ratnam and Kanaka Durga from Shettipalem village in Makavarapalem mandal, drowned. The third woman is in critical condition.

The incident has left their families deeply saddened. The women were enjoying a day at the beach when the unfortunate accident occurred.
