HYDERABAD: A woman who went to the police station to complain about her husband was gang raped by two unidentified men with the help of an auto driver.

The horrific incident occurred on Friday night in the Alwal area of Hyderabad.

The incident involved a 29-year-old woman from Yapral who went to Alwal Police Station on the evening of July 12 to file a complaint against her husband. She booked an auto (AP11 TA 0266) through Uber to reach the police station. After lodging her complaint, the auto driver, who had waited near the station, approached her and offered assistance.

The driver took a detour, stopping near a wine shop where he picked up two men who were drinking alcohol. They forced the woman to consume alcohol as well. The auto then drove to a deserted area in Venkatrao Lane, Alwal. There, the men threatened her, moved her into a car, and the auto driver left the scene. The two men then raped her in the car.

At around 2:45 am on Saturday, the victim managed to escape and reached the Ganesh temple, where she sought help from locals. She called the police using the Dial 100 service, and Bollaram police responded, taking her to the police station.

A Zero FIR was registered, and the case was transferred to Alwal Police Station. The Alwal police initiated an investigation, resulting in the arrest of the auto driver, identified as Shankar. The two other men involved are still at large.
