JANGAON: A shocking incident came to light in Jangaon district when a woman falsely claimed to be pregnant for nine months.

The woman, identified as Dharawat Pallavi, a resident of Mondrai Thanda in Palakurthi mandal, misled her family and others into believing she was expecting a child.

On the day of the incident, she reported labour pains and went to the Jangaon MCH hospital for treatment. She later claimed to hospital staff that she had experienced an abortion in the bathroom and that the baby had fallen into the drainage.

Despite thorough searches by the hospital staff around the bathroom area, no signs of such an event were found, raising suspicions. Doctors conducted medical tests, which revealed that Pallavi was not pregnant at all. Shocked by the revelation, the doctors reported the matter to the police.

The police questioned Pallavi to determine why she had maintained the false pregnancy claim. The motive behind her deception is still under investigation.
