Young man dies by suicide fearing postman job rejection

HYDERABAD: A 23-year-old man, Datturram, from the Pembi Mandal in Nirmal district, Telangana, died by suicide after fearing he would not be selected for a postman job.

Datturram applied for the position in the Postal Department a month ago. The selection for this position was based on the applicant's 10th-grade marks. However, several other applicants who had scored higher than Datturram had also applied, leading him to believe he would not be selected.

Overwhelmed by the fear of rejection, Datturram consumed pesticides. His parents immediately rushed him to the hospital, but he tragically died while undergoing treatment.
