HYDERABAD: A young tenant farmer has died by suicide following the debts incurred for agricultural works in Quthubullapur of Puduru mandal in Vikarabad district.

Kurva Raju (28) who was cultivating six acres of land on rent in addition to his own two acres, had been struggling to make both ends meet. To finance his agricultural activities, he mortgaged the jewelry belonging to his wife, Mamatha, to secure loans.

However, Raju, unable to repay his mounting debts, leading to extreme distress took the final plunge by hanging himself to a tree.

The Congress government promised Rythu Bharosa assistance even to tenant farmers and Raju is both asset owner of a small landholding and a tenant of a relatively larger piece of land. But he is left to a distressed fate.
