Youth creates ruckus under cannabis influence; arrested

HYDERABAD: Some miscreants wreaked havoc on Monday at Asif Nagar area under Humayun Nagar police station limits in the city by attacking passers-by.

The youths created a ruckus under the influence of narcotic substances like marijuana and also alcohol. They had reportedly attacked motorists and behaved in an unruly manner. The nuisance was created at Jhirra area, while consuming cannabis and other substances.

Locals alerted the police, who had reached the spot. However, they were also attacked upon trying to obstruct the youngsters. One of the accused also climbed and attempted to vandalize a police vehicle.

The police resorted to a lathi-charge to bring the situation under control. They have also taken one of the accused, Ajay, into custody. A case has been registered against the trouble-makers and police are further investigating the issue. The police also said that strict action would be taken against those who consumed marijuana and narcotic substances.
