Woman claims she made suicide bid on being accused of affair with YSRCP MLC
A woman, Divvela Madhuri, was injured in a car crash which she claims was a suicide attempt.
AMARAVATI: A woman from Andhra Pradesh, Divvela Madhuri, allegedly attempted suicide following accusations of an extramarital affair with MLC Duvvada Srinivas. Madhuri sustained injuries when another car collided with hers from behind at the Laxmipuram toll gate in Srikakulam district on Sunday.
Speaking to the media from Palasa Hospital, Madhuri confessed that she had been struggling with depression and drove to end her life. She attributed her distress to the relentless trolling and false accusations levelled against her and her three daughters regarding the alleged affair with Duvvada Srinivas.
Madhuri held Srinivas's wife, Srivani, responsible for the accusations and demanded police action against her. She also called for action against the allegations made against her children under the Child Rights Act. She warned that she would attempt suicide again if no action were taken.
The controversy surrounding the alleged affair has been a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh for the past two days. Srivani publicly accused Madhuri of having an extramarital affair with her husband and even stormed Srinivas's house with her daughters. Srinivas's daughters also staged a protest, alleging that their father had abandoned them for another woman.
Madhuri denied all allegations, stating she did not trap Duvvada Srinivas. She countered that, in fact, Srinivas's wife, Vani, had politically manipulated her, using her as a pawn to secure an MLA ticket.
