HYDERABAD: University of Hyderabad (UoH) and KIMS Foundation and Research Center (KFRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday. Under this MoU, the University of Hyderabad will take part in teaching and training masters and doctoral (Ph.D) students in the areas of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Regenerative Medicines, Neurology/Neuroscience, Cardiology and Diagnosis.

KFRC is also working as a nodal center for all the KIMS network hospitals for conducting research, training and sharing the knowledge information. Invited lectures, Conference/Seminars/ Workshops would also be conducted for the benefit of the students. KFRC would institute three research fellowships which will be awarded on merit basis to the research scholars working jointly with UoH-KIMS-KFRC.

Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar, UoH, and the Chairman of KFRC, Dr. V. Bhujanga Rao signed the MoU. It was announced that Prof. Prakash Babu, Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences will serve as the Coordinator from the University, Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma, Principal Scientist, will serve as the Coordinator from KFRC.
