Megastar Chiranjeevi's last outing 'Acharya' directed by Koratala Siva turned out to be the biggest disaster at the box office. Niranjan Reddy and Avinash Reddy bankrolled this project which ended up as a big disappointment for the Mega fans. Despite getting released with a massive budget, the movie has utterly failed to live up to the expectations. Senior writer Paruchuri Gopalakrishna has conducted a postmortem of the film on his Youtube channel.

Talking about the film on his Youtube channel, Paruchuri Palukulu, Gopala Krishna has opened up about the result of the film.

"While watching the movie, I recollected my 'Maro Malupu' movie's story. Maro Malupu also revolves around robbery, entry of Naxalite Siva Krishna, a temple, etc. The movie received a good response. The directors back then used to do movies with a Naxal backdrop. But the trend got stopped after a point. It seems like Koratala Siva got an idea to make one such film and it is really great of Chiranjeevi to accept the script. But they created suspense because of which, the story is confusing. It would have been better if Ram Charan's character was introduced in the first half itself," said Paruchuri.

"Two stars are not required to do a single work. None of the songs are also good. I felt that Chiranjeevi should not have danced for Acharya and his body language is not right for the concept. Even the title is also not good," added Paruchuri in his postmortem of the film.
