HYDERABAD: Swiggy, India’s food delivery platform, clocked a record-breaking 9500 orders per minute on New Year’s Eve. Bawarchi, one of the city’s most iconic restaurants created a new record by selling two Biryanis per minute on Swiggy for the new year. The restaurant expecting even higher orders this year is said to prepare 15,000 kgs of Biryani in their kitchen today.
Among the nation's biggest foodies were Hyderabadis who turned to their tried and tested favourite- the Biryani. Everybody’s favourite Biryani was also the most-ordered dish on the platform at a national level in 2022 with 137 biryani orders per minute placed in the year. Swiggy, which has been sharing how India is celebrating New Year’s Eve on its platform this year, also tweeted about Bawarchi.
