Hyderabad metro rail invites suggestions to revise fair

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad metro rail is considering to raise the passenger tariff. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd has never hiked its prices since it launched its operations in November 2017. The HMRL will be following the procedure of electricity distribution companies (discoms) to decide the prices. On the lines of having a regulatory commission, the HMRL also will have a commission presided over by a retired High Court Judge.

Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development department Arvind Kumar, on Sunday, took to Twitter and put out a newspaper advertisement. The HMRL invited suggestions from the people to decide on the revision of the metro rail fare.

"Fare Fixation Committee (FFC), headed by the retired high court judge Gudiseva Shyam Prasad is set up to take a decision on revision of metro rail fare," read the advertisement.

The general public were invited to welcome to offer suggestions.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail charges range from Rs 10 to Rs 50 based on the destination and chosen route map - the green line (Parade grounds to Falaknuma), the blue line (Nagole to Raidurg) and the red line (Miyapur to LB Nagar).
