HYDERABAD: Municipal Administration, Urban Development and IT Department KT Rama Rao said that the Telangana Government is organising Kakatiya Cultural festival celebrations from the July 7 to 13 of this month to mark the history of Kakatiyas. On this occasion, Ministers KT Rama Rao, V. Srinivas Goud, Satyavathi Rathod along with Government Chief Whip Vinay Bhaskar released the brochure of Kakatiya Vibhava Saptaham activities.

They reviewed the arrangements with Director of Language and Culture Mamidi Harikrishna.

KTR said that the Kakatiya Glory Week program should be organized in a festive atmosphere. He said that under the inspiration of the Kakatiya governance system, the Kakatiya Golusu Kattu pond restoration program was undertaken by the Chief Minister. He said that the Kakatiyas had done many great works for the people and it was "our responsibility" to protect them. He said that the state government intended to organize the Kakatiya Vibhava Week on a grand scale to show the glory and historical uniqueness of Kakatiya rule and opined that the government would mobilise the necessary financial resources for the celebrations.


Tourism and Culture Department, Kakatiya Urban Development Authority, and Municipal Corporations would carry out the necessary works within the respective departments. KTR wanted the involvement of all, cutting across the party lines.

Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar suggested that an all-party meeting should be held with the district public representatives and leaders of all parties, take their opinions and suggestions.

He said that all the junctions of Warangal city should be decorated with festoons and a special conference on the construction of Kakatiya Golusu Kattu ponds should be arranged by the experts.

"Since such an occasion comes once in a hundred years, these large-scale programs will present the history of Kakatiya to a future generation," KTR said.

The minister suggested that artists and poets should also be involved and a programme should be undertaken to honour the famous poets and artists of the entire district on this occasion and take action to release a special postal stamp on the occasion of Kakatiya glory week. He advised to set up hoardings all over Warangal city and use digital media efficiently to give wide publicity to the celebrations. Officials were directed to create a coffee table book to showcase the splendour of Kakatiya architecture.

Telangana Culture Department Director Mamidi Harikrishna, Warangal-based prominent businessman Mr. Om Nama Shivaya, and others participated in this program.
