HYDERABAD: Standup comic Munawar Faruqui profusely thanked the people of Hyderabad for patronising his show, despite resistance.
Munawar Faruqui posted a video of his show held at Shilpa Kalavedika on Twitter.
He tweeted: "Thank you Hyderbad ❤️ ki public for your love. And thanks for letting me spread love & laughter in your city." He tagged Minister KTR and Cyberabad Police.
He also added that: "A government should be like this only 👏👏 It's feels great this Artist haven't suffered it's the art and talent that won the battle against hatred."
It may be recalled that BJP MLA Raja Singh threatened to stall the comedy show as the comic artist spread hatred against Lord Rama and Sita. And, derided the Hindu gods.
The Hyderabad City Police took Raja Singh into preventive custody. Raja Singhbhad dared KTR to release him for one hour and that he would show what he could do.
Tension and suspense gripped the city on Saturday.
However, the show ended peacefully.
