HYDERABAD: Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday inaugurated the newly-constructed bridge over a nala near Patny of Secunderabad. It was built as part of the Strategic Nala Development Program (SNDP) with a budget of Rs 10 crore.

The bridge will benefit the low lying areas by providing a smooth flow of traffic in the catchment area around Begumpet, which are frequently flooded during rains.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Yadav said that the people living in low-lying areas of many colonies and cantonment areas of Begumpet were relieved from the hardships they faced due to flooding during monsoon. He also urged the people to maintain cleanliness and exercise self-discipline, asking them not to throw garbage into the drains.

"We are striving to make Hyderabad city a global city. The Government spent crores of rupees to develop roads and nalas in the city to enable a smooth flow of traffic, as the Government noted that the number of vehicles in the city were increasing drastically, " Talasani said.
