Three firearms found in Telangana Assembly lawns

HYDERABAD: Three firearms – two country-made revolvers and a tapancha – were found on the premises of the Telangana Legislative Assembly in Hyderabad on Friday, causing commotion locally.

The guns were found in the bushes of the lawns on the premises when the staff of the Horticulture Department was cleaning the area. The three lethal weapons were reportedly in a rusted condition.

Alarmed by the presence of the weapons, the staff immediately alerted the Saifabad police who rushed to the spot and seized the rusty revolvers. After registering a case, the police are trying to ascertain how long they were there in the bushes.

The police are also likely to take the help of technical evidence like footage of CCTV cameras in the vicinity to identify those who had dumped the guns there.
